Bigotry ads created by Indian admen

It’s surprising to see the kind of ads that we are bombarded with on a day to day basis. Many of these ads are just complete non sense and some ad’s a few years back which were my personal favorites are now irritating ads may be because subconsciously I am not ready to accept the changes or they are going against what they use to claim a few years back.

Kellogs

Eating 2 times kellogs for 2 months makes one lose weight! What can be more stupid than this. Do these guys have any sense? Are these guys asking us to eat only their cornflakes to make one lose weight? Is their product so powerful that it can burn all calories and remove all cholesterol from the body and still make one lose weight in 2 months without any side effects? Had this ad been aired in some other country they would have dragged it to court.

Complan

Any kid that drinks complan grows faster than other energy drinks taking a dig at Horlicks. No words to describe this. Did our fathers and grandfather not grow up tall enough without having any of these energy drinks? Still they are healthier than our generation. How come? Need some introspection I guess.

Fairness cream

Do these guys have brains? How can a cream make u fair. If that’s the case why not prove your claim with South African population and prove your product. And the variants of ads of various companies these guys come out one cannot stand these and will have to switch off the television screens during the ads.

Body sprays and deos

I don’t want to name since most of the ads are of the same content and the list is huge.

Humans perspire nothing can be done about it, it’s just like nature's call. You cannot have control over it. I remember some time back Unilever Big Boss saying that Indians stink because they don’t use deos and body spray. How funny! In the scorching sun of 40 degrees+ riding on a two wheeler or a bus if he is expecting oneself to smell like as though out of a rose garden is weird.

Live a normal common Indian life then decide whether your products are good enough to contain perspire and body odour and then talk about Indians.

Bajaj Pulsar

Two women (presumably sisters) show their Jackie Chan and Jet Lee skills to get a ride on a pulsar with a guy. I remember a few years back an ad of Bajaj moving away from kolam (rice drawing done normally in front of South Indian homes) and wishing God in front of the temple to prove that they are truly Indian at heart. Now what has gone into these guys brains. Both these ads are completely opposite in content and communication. Have these ad men and companies decided the youth is nothing more than flesh seekers.

A few years back I use to hear Hamaara Bajaj. Now where is that belonging? Its no more Hamaara Bajaj it’s now like Tumhaara Bajaj and I pay you to get a ride on it.

I have the deepest regard for Viju for his Olympic performance. No offenses against Viju.

But admen and company what correlation are you drawing between a boxer and a life insurance? What has life insurance got to do with boxing? If Viju was on a health drink ad or a sports shoe ad which made him make the right moves or even a garment ad is acceptable but what correlation are u drawing between Life Insurance and boxing. Dear admen have u ever watched a boxing match. It is still considered to be one of worlds dangerous sports and you are asking a participant of the worlds dangerous sport to endorse a life insurance product. What are you trying to communicate here? I am confused.

Political vendetta or family vendetta against Varun Gandhi?

There seems to be no end to the media trial of Varun Gandhi. There is not a single news channel that doesn’t speak of Varun Gandhi. News channels have gone to the extent asking their viewers to “vote against hate”. The extent of media influence or anti Hindu sentiment is amplified with this event. These were the same news channels which made everyone of us glued the television screens during Mumbai terror attacks and were speaking of neighborhood terrorism and that political leaders were inept in protecting us. Now where are all these sentiments gone when there is one young politician who is speaking about the same and is speaking for the Indian against Jihadis? Is it because they have forgotten about it or that they want to make us forget?

The entire normal Indian mind space is more bothered about job loss, recession, elections, IPL second season and would have gradually forgetting about Mumbai terror attacks? And when the normal Indian mind is bothered about something else project Varun Gandhi as a person who creates communal tension, who hates the so called minority and project BJP as a communal party through the prism of Varun Gandhi. It’s now an open secret now who would gain out of it on the personal side and the political side.

Though all expectation and intention of the blowup of his speech was to snub and corner him, the outcome however seems contrary to all expectations. He has suddenly become a known figure nationally in BJP across India otherwise until no body would have known him. Going by the news channel reporting it seems many BJP leaders want him to campaign in their respective constituencies. Seems like watching a popular Hindi film hit script isn’t it?

It’s been almost a week that all the television channels are trying to keep us glued to the issue. But I am just wondering what was the purpose of showing women rather girls beaten coming out of the pub. But is this the first time such a thing is happening. But where were all these jokers when the following events happened.

Tasleema Nasreen was beaten up in front of the camera in Hyderabad where was the outcry then?
Women in Jammu & Kashmir are forced to live the way a few jerks decide else they will be thrown acid in the face.
Where was the outcry when a few young men were thrashed in Chennai Law College?
There are reports of a minister’s son from Goa allegedly involved in rape where was the outcry then? And is this the end of the list? No it is endless.

More bizarre is when one comes to understand that none of the victims seem to have a complaint and neither their parents or caretakers against the so called moral policemen. And why is that so because there are rumors that the girls were daughters of socially high standing and some were even minors.

Do we have to now come to the conclusion that drinking and going to a pub even in their conscious was not the right thing to do? There will be another argument that will pop for the comment saying that it was in the best interest of the girl’s privacy and media attention. Even considering this if they were in so need of privacy why did they not drink at home and drink in a pub? And their parents too don’t want to come out in the open because they know it was not right on their part to send their daughters to pubs with or without permission.

Surprisingly one advertisement comes to mind yes it is Microsoft Windows Mobile. The crux of the ad is the potential bride and potential bridegroom parents are talking about tying knot for their children. The potential bride takes the picture of the potential bridegroom and sends it to her brother’s mobile and in turn he captures video of the bridegroom flirting with girls and drinking in the pub. Moral of the story Indian society does not accept flirting with girls and drinking in a pub. An American company understands the psyche and culture of Indians why are we Indians pretending to be looking otherwise?

What was the outcome of all this?

A little known party called Sri Ram Sena has got a nation wide attention.
There was Chief Minister Ghelot shared a similar point of view though he was reprimanded later for coming in public with his views by high command.
There was the health minister who says drinking among youth has gone up and wants to put an end to pub culture.
All the accused got bail.
The NCW says it was the fault of the pub not providing adequate security and has requested to cancel the pub’s license.
Now look who is talking Renuka Choudry is challenging that the accused will not get away.

Sri Ram Sena is out claiming victory and says it will do it again. It’s time to tell us who will have victory in an election year.

Double standards of Media

There is nothing new about Gujarat if one is going by standards set by the news channels every now and then one thing I come across in common is the Godhra incident. Is it the only thing that happened and is there any thing else happening in the state?

It seems the media has taken an oath that they will not portray anything good that’s happening in the country. Every body was keen in talking about awards to Slumdog Millionaire. I have not noticed any media bringing to notice the billions of investment that is going to be flowing into Gujarat. And seeing all this I can only infer that there seems to be double standards while the media reports about a few visionaries who are bringing transformation and who can in real life can uplift the people of the country.

New Year yeah !!!!!!! But why do we celebrate it?

It’s kind of berserk and inundate SMS we start to get during New Year. There are some who keep is simple and there are others who wait until some good messages are forwarded to them and they in turn forward to many others. You don’t remember who sent what because its all the same forwarded messages. Common guy’s years of English education should have made you better than forwarding messages. And there are some people who have the courtesy of calling and talking to you.

What I don’t understand is why we have to look through the prism of western civilization not understanding why we celebrate New Year. Do we celebrate because we were asked to celebrate or because television channels show party animals partying till the dawn of next day? Or because they talk English with an English slang, and they are financially well of and they see MTV and read western magazines which any way looks at India as a third world country? And mind u MTV in India is Indianized version of MTV and not original. So much for being culturally civilized I guess.

When every day is new and every minute is new and every new day gives us opportunity of time do new things and continue doing old things that we love and keeps us in peace, love, harmony and accomplished. New Year is a nothing but a universally accepted system for time keeping and bears nothing more than that when you look at how the concept of celebrating new year was imposed upon us.

A look at how the history of New Year was born

In the years around 2000 BC, the Babylonian New Year began with the first New Moon and that falls in March in the present day calendar. The season of rebirth, of planting corps and of blossoming was celebrated as New Year during the Babylonian civilization. (We have a history, tradition, culture and civilization that goes beyond them Babylonian civilization)

The beginning of spring is a logical time to start a New Year. After all, it is the season of rebirth, of planting new crops, and of blossoming.

The Romans continued to observe the New Year in late March, but their calendar was continually tampered with by various emperors so that the calendar soon became out of synchronization with the sun. In order to set the calendar right, the Roman senate, in 153 BC, declared January 1 to be the beginning of the New Year. But tampering continued until Julius Caesar, in 46 BC, established what has come to be known as the Julian Calendar. It again established January 1 as the New Year. But in order to synchronize the calendar with the sun, Caesar had to let the previous year drag on for 445 days.

During the Middle Ages, the Church remained opposed to celebrating New Years.

New Year celebrations on January 1st has a history of only 400 years and during this period was Christianity was imposed by the western civilization upon other civilizations.

We have started to celebrate on January 1st just because we don’t have independent thinking and we need prism of the west even to celebrate our new year when our culture still has better things to offer.

Hindu Massacre was bigger than Jewish holocaust

For many of us Hindu Kush is a mountain that originates in Afghanistan and extends upto Pakistan. There are two meanings to the he word Hindu Kush one is a popular one and the other one is not so popular.

1. Hindu Kush in Persian means Mountains of India (popular version as we are all made to believe)
2. Hindu Kush in Persian actually means Hindu Slaughter, yes you read it right Hindu Slaughter, the ugly truth that we are not aware of.

The actual name of the mountains was Paariyaatra Parvat according to early maps of India.

While the issue is not about how the name is derived. The issue is about how ignorant we are about history. When history can teach about Hitler why not about Hindu Kush and Hindu genocide in erstwhile East Paksitan. There is a deliberate attempt to cover up. This is also evident from the educational policy of the government. NCERT – National Council of Educational Research and Training has a directive that conflicts between Hindus and Muslims as forbidden.

If Israel can teach about atrocities and horrors against the Jews why can’t India teach atrocities and horrors committed against Hindus in India. I do agree that India is a democracy and republic, but so is United States of America if they can teach holocaust on Jews why not Hindu massacre to India? The reason Israel teaches its children about the atrocities against Jews is not to wage war against the perpetrators rather to learn from history and to avoid it from happening again and to ensure that they are a civilization that was victims of holocaust and still they survive. It is a question of pride, substance and perseveration of centuries of humiliation and still maintaining dignity as a nation though they are still surrounded by enemies.

Hiding the truth denies empathy, sympathy to the victims, their future generations never know history and their civilization, inhumane and uncultural.

The last Hindu Shahiya king of Kabul, Bhimapal was killed in 1026 AD. After the battle those inhabitants of Delhi who were captured and massacred by Timur Lane's army was about 100,000. Later on Encyclopedia Britannica mentions that the Mughal emperor Akbar ordered the massacre of about 30,000 Rajput Hindus on February 24, 1568 AD, after the battle for Chitod. Another reference indicates that this massacre of 30,000 Hindu peasants at Chitod is recorded by Abul Fazl, Akbar's court historian himself. These two events captured by history by the mughal emperors shows us the number and scale of Hindu’s massacred in one day. The Afgan historian Ghiyas ad-Din Muhammad Khwandamir records that during one of the many repeated invasions on the city of Herat in western Afganistan, 1,500,000 residents perished.

In the December 1970 general election in Pakistan, Awami League won 167 of 169 seats and over 80 % of popular votes in East Pakistan. Numerically Awami League had an absolute majority of seats in the Pakistan National Assembly (167 of the total 313 seats) Historically East Pakistan was allocated only 36 % of the total resources and East Pakistani’s occupied only 20 % of the positions in the federal government in the United Pakistan. The Pakistani government's apathy towards East Pakistan after a terrible cyclone in November 1970 in which over 250,000 people died, had alienated East Pakistani people. The solid outcome of the 1970 elections for Awami League created an alternative power center for an already alienated people. The differences between the East and West Pakistani politicians snowballed into a major international crisis. On March 25, 1971 Pakistani army on President Yahya Khan's orders initiated a campaign of terror which was to last till its final surrender to the Indian army on December 17, 1971. This terror campaign by Pak army resulted in 10 million Bangladeshi refugee’s crossing over to India. Most world renowned relief and news agencies put the number of dead at 3 million. Using the population statistics from Bangladesh Government and US Government publications this article proves that 80 percent of the refugees from Bangladesh were Hindus and that 80 percent of the 3 million killed were Hindus. Thus it was a Hindu genocide that took place in East Pakistan in 1971.

They don’t give a damn about the people you kill; they just pretend to mourn for like a bunch of days and get over it. If you guys really want people to care you should, like, stop killing ordinary people and bomb celebrities and movie award shows. But somehow you guys think that just because you live in caves and we, commoners, live in houses we got it easy. Do you guys know how nerve-racking it is to get a job in today’s world? Do you know how tough it is to get laid these days? Or at least get some good quality lesbian porn? Come on, guys, if you really want to punish people you should be just letting us live our lives.

Operation Wrath of God

On the wake of the Mumbai terror attacks there was a debate going on as to what should done to counter terror and there were a lot of prominent personalities and one thing that had my attention more than any things is one by Arun Shourie. He said there is a joke commonly shared it goes like this “there will be a group of terrorists who will capture a group of people, and they start to identify each ones nationality and during the check terrorist goes berserk on his fellow terrorist as to why he has captured an Israeli National? and order to leave him at once without harming him and ensure his safety untill he is out of their clutches.” Though I never understood what it was or why Israel is more feared than the United States by terrorists. So I decided to learn more about Israel and its history.

While reading through history dating back to Mosses crossing the river from Bible to 1948 was interesting. As a religion, society and community they have gone through centuries of repression, slavery and ethnic cleansing. They have been under the rule of Egyptians, Romans and Arabs just to name a few.

The event in 1972 was more interesting and an eye opener. Though it is something that none of our history books, magazines, television channels and the world as such do not like to speak about.

In a nation of a billion people how come only one man’s thought process has gone towards considering that martyr Hemanth Karkare was killed by Hindu terror groups. How could a man even think of such a thing when the entire nation was mourning of a brave officer, father, husband and soldier who has given his life defending the country.

I am pretty sure not much of us would have gone through the official website of Jamaat ud dawa. Now if you are trying to reach it then it would be in vain since the international community has blocked the site thanks to counterterrorism blog and their efforts in blocking this site.

One of the content of the site was the claim by the outfit that the Indian army had stage managed the entire event and Hindu militant outfits have stage managed the entire event to kill Hemant Karkare.

Though this kind of pervert thinking would have not managed to get into the mind of a normal Indian citizen it has come to Abdul Rehman Antualy. My conciousness allows only conclusion. Abdul Rehman Antulay is a representative and spokesperson of Jamaat ud Dawa.

Abdul Rehman Antulay is a cancer to our society. More concerning is the political party he representing saying that everybody makes mistake.

Mayawati, Pakistan, Internal & External Terror

The entire world acknowledges consciously that terrorists came from Pakistan. But Pakistan puts a brave face stating that they don’t have any proof that there are any links to terror blasts and its soil and has vehemently asking to prove time and again and again. With the proof given all the evidence will be cleared within 24 hours by the Pakistanis

Likewise see what has happened in Mayawati’s territory. An engineer is killed and Mayawati wants proof that the money extortion the motive behind the death. Else Mayawati wants everybody to apologize and this she said in front of the media. Tiwari is her own party worker and if he cannot be put under control by Mayawati a state chief minister how differently do we need to expect a foreign country to react to terror strikes?

Now what’s the difference between Zardari, Gilani and Mayawati. All three are fooling others and everybody is looking helpless.

When we have our own terrorists in the soil and we cant do anything about why think of even taking a hair out of Pakistan terror outfits ?

How long will we remember Mumbai terror?

While the whole country was shocked and was gloomed to the TV and some still are glued to the news channels to see whats breaking new on the news channels.

The whole of Mumbai and the country is showing angst against the politicians who have caused so much delay in the system to arrive at a decision. Let us see how much we’ll remember for how long will we remember this and how we tend to forget about things in due course of time.

Let me start with a few events in the past unfolded some we recollect and some of we don’t recollect.

There were serious of bomb blasts from Bangalore to Assam covering every state. And what was the Home minister capable of doing? Well he arrived in various costumes in front of the camera. So much for good looks huh !!!!!!!.

When the whole country and the Congress especially was proud its mandate recommended President Prathiba Patil becoming the first female president of the country we also saw that one politician beating and kicking a female senior citizen in Bihar. What are we celebrating upon empowerment of women and a female President whose achievement in life has been nothing more than being a table tennis champion even after her hair growing grey. And there was a recent comment by her which “What has the army done to us?”

There was a newspaper office rampaged burnt and three people killed in TamilNadu in front of the camera and what has the media community done to show unity towards their peers? SILENCE and why is that because the instigators are supporters of the son of Chief Minister.

Raj Thackrey and his MNS mangoos (mangoos popular after the Mumbai terror) went on Rampage on non Maharashtrians in Mumbai and what did Vilasrao do? Come out with a report on the state government job status report stating that more than 80% of the jobs are held by Maharashtrians. So much for accountability. They have also taken the pride of banning a movie called Deshmukh.

One female was killed in Delhi in the early hours of the day and what was the reaction of the Chief Minister of Delhi. “Why should a woman travel in the wee hours of the morning”.

Why would a Chief Minister take his son Ritesh and a movie director Ram Gopal Varma to Terror Tourism to Taj. Well I can only premuse this could have happened. Father and son were watching TV pop corn as though like a bollywood movie unfolding events though our brother martyrs losing lives to save the face of the country and our lives. Then son asked his father that he wanted to act in a movie like this and both of them decided to make a blockbuster movie out of it where the son will be the hero and immediately they squared in a director for the movie the famous flop maker Ram Gopal Varma, and why was he accompanied with the terror tourism so that he can replicate sets in the movie as real as the Taj carnage and damage as close to realism.

After all this during a press conference the so called Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh makes mockery of the entire country and says “He has offered to resign if it is he is responsible for the events” So much for accountability.

If we though he was a joker there was a bigger and better clown in the sytem RR Patil When asked at a press conference whether the terror strike was an intelligence failure, Patil said in Hindi: "Aisa nahi hai. Itne bade shahar mein chhota hadsa ho jata hai. To total failure nahi hai. (It is not like that. In big cities like this, small incidents do happen. It's is not a total failure.) Seems he has enjoyed the events unfolding.

Though these are things that have witnessed some popular some unpopular. This is how things will be going forward. As I am typing this there is news coming out that there is a blast in Assam. Now the focus clearly shifts now to Assam.

There will be an other cricket match with a foreign nation touring the country. And we gradually will shift attention to the cricket matches and the controversies surrounding them.

There will be polls results that will come out from J & K, Delhi and other state assemblies that are going for polls and every blood boiling Indian would feel that the politicians in power are being thrown out. And all channels would be making their on assessment how the policiticians are being thrown out of power and then what happens the system is still the same and the new guys will be working harder to ensure they blame the other side for not things happening and making a mess out of the whole system. And the vicious circle seems to be never ending.

Then there will be another IPL and ICL match that will come up and our we will be nail biting and using all the stress and nerves hoping to make our favorite teams win. IPL & ICL are no more than the casino where the only loser it the player ( refer player to cricket fans).

There will also be a big debate whether India will be playing some day against Pakistan and entire country will want to see Indians beat Pakistan which may or may not happen. If India wins then every body feels gratified and if not so the country creates another controversy of whether the players are too old to play or whether they are too young and inexperienced to play. Is beating Pakistan in a cricket match any way of countering terrorism in Kashmir? While all this happens BCCI would have enough in its kitty again headed by a politician. What has the politician got to do with a cricket body anyway?

There will be Rakhi Sawant creating controversies on how the judgment was done and there will be an other Big Boss season 2 & 3 where drug addicts, homicide suspects who plotted bombs against the country and item dancers will be participating and there will again be controversies on that and there goes our attention.

There will be another episode of Sass and Bahu serials that will make our home TV screens wet. With the advent of DTH the crying episodes will bring in more clarity.

There will be China who will claim that Arunachal Pradesh belongs to them and India would being peace and negotiations with China and may be give part of Arunachal Pradesh to China. We have always been a country that has given part of our territory to other beginning with Pakistan.

Pakistan will still maintain that they are innocent and have no links with the terrorist groups inside or outside Pakistan. They will have their foreign and external ministry spoke person coming out in the media and saying that the enemy is common and that they are supporters of true democracy. And the whole world will still be made to believe that India is against Pakistan and is bringing instability to South East Asia. Its is also perhaps time to manage India as a brand. Foreign media believes Pakistan but not India why? Army men will lose lives in the border of J & K but will receive no martyr status though he has died fighting insurgents and terrorists cause we don’t lose soldiers in big numbers on a daily basis. We will still fly MIG21 outdated war planes and our airforce commandos will still lose life but no action will take place and there will be controversy in that too.

India Inc will acquire a few companies in Europe and US in the recession period. Taj and Oberoi will be rebuilt and come back alive and kicking. We would be again proud as part of a country that has always raised from the ashes.

After all these things happening a few years would have passed and all of us would have forgot about what ever had happened like the 1993, Kargil war, Coimbatore blasts, Jaipur blasts, Bangalore blasts, Hyderabad blasts, Assam blasts (there were 4108 terrorists attacks against India between 1970 and 2004 according to University of Maryland study on Global Terrorism database) and the list goes on and since we don’t have a scar on our body and minds we will go to sleep like a very normal day and we again wake up from sleep to know that there has been a bomb blast in the neighborhood and again go after blaming the politicians and the systems in the country. Before doing all these things have we ever tried to make things work ever with what ever systems are available?

While all these things happen and we blame our politicians look at what we have done to ourselves. How many of us know who is the panchayat president who is suppose to represent us in the local level and how many time has he addressed us or how many time have you met him regarding an issue? I think that will yield more results than expecting policy to be coming from Delhi. How many of us know who is the local Mayor? Why do we have to always blame the politicians? Each and every Indian is accountable for what ever happened because we have voted for inefficiency and leaders who are expected to be served rather than people who can serve. And we will perhaps continue to do so going forward.

It is time for us look at things inside out and not outside in. Leadership is within and not outside.
